MMP Activity Assay Kit is designed to check the general activity of an MMP enzyme and to screen MMP inhibitors. A fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) peptide is used as a generic indication of MMP activity in the MMP assay procedure. One portion of the intact FRET peptide had its fluorescence suppressed by another. Following MMP cleavage into two distinct fragments, the fluorescence is restored.
