CD73 Proteins

RRPFR0192

CD73 is an enzyme that is encoded by the NT5E gene. AMP is frequently converted to adenosine by CD73. Purine 5-prime mononucleotides are converted to nucleosides at neutral pH by ecto-5-prime-nucleotidase (5-prime-ribonucleotide phosphohydrolase), with AMP as the preferred substrate. Different forms of 5-prime nucleotidase can be identified from ecto-NT5 by their substrate affinities, need for divalent magnesium ions, ATP activation, and inorganic phosphate inhibition. These forms are found in the cytoplasm and lysosomes.
